  • Check out this powerful short film, “Turning the Tide: Stories of Open Science,” featuring academics talking about their personal turning points towards openness.

“As a researcher, I grew up in a very competitive field. I didn’t feel like passing this on to a new generation”

Presenting our film, “Turning the Tide: Stories of Open Science” featuring 7 academics talking about their personal turning points towards openness. With this film, we hope to empower people towards change.

This year, Creative Commons is turning 25! We are thrilled to be celebrating this milestone with our global community, and honoring our commitment to creating a world where everyone has access to knowledge.

In honor of our anniversary, CC has set an ambitious goal to raise $5 million to support our continued efforts to ensure that humans can openly share their knowledge and creativity online. And we have some exciting news! The first 250 donors who contribute $125 or more will receive a signed copy of Cory Doctorow’s exclusive new art book, Canny Valley.

The book contains 80 collages, all made from openly licensed sources, and all licensed under Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike. Each image is a testament to the power of sharing and remixing human-made art.

Join our campaign and secure your copy of Canny Valley today!

  • When AI systems produce outputs without attribution, important context can be lost. Information with no indication of where it came from makes it difficult to trust, check accuracy, and credit the people whose work made it possible.

Read our new issue brief for a primer on the challenges and opportunities of incorporating attribution into AI outputs.
